It all started in 1972 when my grandfather Gene Little saw a barrack being moved on Fort Bliss (El Paso), Texas. He got the basic idea from this mover and thought that he could do it. His first move was a motor pool from White Sands Missile Range. He moved this building to a piece of property that he owned in Chaparral, New Mexico so that it could become his home. My father, Rick Little, started moving houses with my grandfather while he was still in high school until 1974 when he started working full time and eventually took the company completely over in 1988. While Fort Bliss was their primary source of movable structures, my father began to diversify and expand the company to moving more than just buildings.

Structural moving has been in my blood since I was born, being on and travelling to jobsites were some of my first memories. Now I’ve been in the structural moving industry full-time for several decades, and it has come a long way. From pan dollies and digging holes to set hand pump hydraulic jacks, to air bags, to the unified jacking system and Texas Speeders. My company now has surpassed my grandfathers biggest expectations as far as technology and our ability to move things he couldn’t even imagine possible. I’m proud to be in this profession and it gives me great pride to be able to point out buildings that we’ve moved and to know that there isn’t anything that we can’t move.
